Critical Incident Response Service
The Humber and North Yorkshire (HNY) Resilience Hub Critical Incident Response Service (CIRS) is free, confidential service for all health, care, emergency service and voluntary sector staff and their teams. Health, care, emergency service and voluntary sector staff teams can sometimes encounter events with can potentially be traumatic, and this can have a significant impact on individuals, their team and their life within and outside of work. The HNY Resilience Hub’s CIRS has been set up to support teams or services with the impact of these potentially traumatic incidents.
Support offered through the HNY Resilience Hub Critical Incident Response Service
The CIRS is suitable for those who have experienced a collective critical incident at work, described by the World Health Organisation (WHO) as a sudden, unexpected incident, involving perceived threat to life and can include elements of physical and emotional loss.
The aim of the CIRS is to provide a single point of access, clinical triage and assessment in a time sensitive and evidence-based manner.
Post incident care
There are two routes of post-incident care within the CIRS. These are:
- Individual post-incident care or supported access to other clinically appropriate pathways of care within HNY Resilience Hub.
- Team or service-based consultation, reflective practice and intervention
